A mother with two young children was referred to us for support with finding work. She had previously worked in senior marketing roles and had also trained as a teacher. Having applied for more than 30 jobs with no success, she was very disheartened. Then she met with a Richmond Fellowship Employment Specialist who helped her to put together an action plan. She decided that her strengths lay in marketing and that she didn’t want to pursue teaching anymore. They tailored her CV, as she was originally only targeting marketing management roles. However, she decided after several years out of the industry she would like to ‘test the waters’. Her Employment Specialist coached her on which jobs to apply for and within three months she was offered a marketing assistant role locally, in an industry she loves, which fitted in with her childcare responsibilities.
